The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) hopes to collect P80.6 billion this April, traditionally the highest earning month for the agency. Corporate and individual taxpayers have until tomorrow to pay their tax liabilities with the agency. BIR deputy commissioner for operations Nelson Aspe said the agency expects to hit a new monthly record this April now that it has been stepping up efforts to boost collection and widen the tax base.
