An estimated 100 houses were razed by a fire Saturday afternoon in Barangay Arena Blanco in Zamboanga City at around noon Saturday. Residents cannot pinpoint which house the fire originated from but they said the blaze quickly spread around the neighborhood due to hot weather and also due to the light materials used in most of the structures. The blaze was put out at around 3 p.m. Arena Blanco Barangay Chair Hadji Adim Atti said more than 100 families lost their homes in the blaze due to the fact that more than one family lived in one housed in many of the homes lost.
